The Artist
Youns: Biography
Some artists carry a passion for art from childhood, a true genetic imprint. This is the case of Yoni Lallouche, also known as Youns, active in Contemporary Art since 2015, becoming essential for Pop Art lovers. Growing up in the Parisian suburbs, the graffiti that punctuated his daily life caught his eye early on. However, it was during adolescence that his fascination with this artistic expression intensified.
During his RER journeys, he carefully observes the tags that dot his way to the capital, trying to decipher them. He developed an attraction for this artistic form, both for the vibrancy of the colors and for the play of shadows.
Using lenticular art and augmented reality, Yoni Lallouche merges the real and the digital. The combination of these two techniques gives life to experiential, sensitive and cultured works. Through female figures, Yoni Lallouche indeed gives much more to see than colorful portraits, he creates a real interaction between the work and the viewer thanks to an active QR code associated with each painting.
A 3.0 art anchored in reality
“I am a digital artist”
Strongly influenced by Street Art, of which he has retained his taste for color, Yoni Lallouche explored digital very early on via photo retouching on these Pop Art works before turning to lenticular imagery, the process of which he mastered in its entirety. . This self-taught jack of all trades, who was an optician and carpenter, wondered about the emergence of a new world overseen by AI: “Today QR codes are everywhere, menus, show tickets, invitations… Their omnipresence questioned me and I wanted to make it more glamorous through my art.” Associated with each of his works, the QR code takes its place in his ''QontRast'' collection.
The idea?
Open the doors to another dimension by scanning the QR codes and give access to a 3D vision of the work in weightlessness as well as a video which tells a passage from the history of the personality represented when she is famous or a generic video on the place of women in the world.
Offer an intuitive experience!
“My works are physical and virtual at the same time”
Although lenticular art may seem virtual, it is in fact very real. It is at the heart of this border which separates these two worlds that Yoni Lallouche found his inspiration. For each work there are two distinct images: on one side the portrait which can be admired, on the other the QR code which contrasts this portrait and invites action, those who look at it and sharpen their curiosity. By scanning the QR code, we leave the material to enter the digital: the work moves into another dimension and provides access to knowledge. The movement implied by this multidimensional aspect places the work in modernity and the spectator as an actor.
The woman at the center of her art
“Nothing gives me more emotion than a portrait of a woman. Women are the essence of my art.”
Marilyn, Frida Kahlo, Brigitte Bardot, Simone Veil…, all these women carry the artistic project of Yoni Lallouche. By choosing to represent iconic but also unknown women, he shows his respect for all the women of this world and recalls their power and influence: “My works pay homage to emblematic women but also and above all to WOMEN in all its plurality.
